GARY T. BROTHERSON
I am an Erie native who truly enjoys living here. I am blessed with my wife Linda, who is also my office manager, and 3 children, who have attended schools in Erie, including Villa Maria Academy, Cathedral Prep, and McDowell.
As a general Ophthalmologist, I examine patients for all aspects of eye diseases, not just glaucoma, cataract, and diabetes. As a surgeon, I can offer my patients the lastest and greatest approaches for intervention, although I am considered conservative in my approach.
I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and belong to the local, state and national societies of the AMA.
I am a volunteer surgeon for Surgical Eye Expeditions and have made several trips to South America performing and teaching cataract surgery.
It has been humbling to have been nominated to 'Best Doctors in America' many times since 1999.

Like my colleagues, I too am an Erie native having returned home after three years in the Navy where I served as a staff Optometry officer at Naval Amphibious Base, Norfolk, Virginia.
My wife Mary and I have two children, both still in school in Philadelphia.
I provide complete vision care, contact lens services and comprehensive medical eye care in this private, professional medical practice. In addition, I am a staff optometrist at the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I work two days a week.
I continue to serve in the United States Navy as a Captain in the Medical Service Corps. I just returned from Alaska where I served with an eighteen member medical team providing humanitarian assistance to the village of Savoonga, on Saint Lawrence Island.
